Help and policies
Delivery, returns, your legal rights, warranty and battery safety - written to be read rather than to be technically satisfied.
Written to be read. These policies describe how we trade today, including exactly what this website records and what it does not. We review them whenever the way we sell or handle data changes. Last reviewed: 19 October 2026.
Delivery
- Bikes arrive assembled and pre-delivery inspected, with their chargers and everything listed in the specification. Everything else arrives ready to use as described on its listing.
- Standard UK delivery is £39, free on orders over £1,500, and normally takes 3 to 5 working days after dispatch.
- Delivery is to your door and tracked, UK-wide.
- Delivery costs are shown before you commit to buy, not added at the end.
- Dispatch windows differ from product to product and are shown on each listing. We confirm the expected date in writing before taking payment.
Large cargo bikes and front-loaders sometimes need a two-person handover or a timed delivery. We will arrange that with you directly.
Returns and cancellation
Buying online: your 14-day right to cancel
If you buy from this website, you have the right to cancel the contract without giving any reason. The cancellation period is 14 days starting the day the goods come into your physical possession. If an order is delivered in several parts, the period runs from the day you receive the last part.
- Tell us you are cancelling - a clear email or phone call is enough, you do not need to give a reason.
- You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back to us.
- We refund the price you paid plus the standard delivery charge. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, only the standard cost is refunded.
- We refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you providing evidence that you have sent them - whichever is earlier.
- You cover the cost of returning the goods unless we agreed otherwise.
Handling the goods
You are entitled to inspect and handle an item as you reasonably would in a shop - try it on, or sit on and briefly ride a bike to check it works. If you go further than that and the item loses value, we may deduct a reasonable amount for the diminished value. We will always explain any deduction and how it was calculated.
Faults
A faulty item is a different matter, and your rights are stronger - see your statutory rights below. Do not use the 14-day cancellation route for something that has developed a fault; contact us and we will deal with it as a fault.
Exchanges
If you chose the wrong size, we will happily exchange where stock allows. Contact us before returning anything so we can hold the replacement.
Your statutory rights
These rights come from the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and apply regardless of anything we or a manufacturer say. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
- First 30 days: if the goods are faulty, you have a short-term right to reject them and get a full refund.
- After 30 days: repair or replacement is normally the first remedy. If that is not possible, or is not done properly, you may be entitled to a price reduction or a final right to reject.
- First six months: if a fault appears, we must repair or replace it unless we can show the fault was not there when it was sold.
- Time limits for a claim: generally six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and five years in Scotland.
None of this is affected by a warranty, and nothing in our terms removes it.
Warranty
Every new product is covered by a manufacturer warranty. On a bike that typically covers the frame, the motor and the battery for a set period - the exact terms vary by manufacturer and model, and we will give you the written terms for yours at handover.
- A warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, not a replacement for them.
- It normally excludes wear items: tyres, brake pads, chains, cassettes, cables and bearings.
- Regular servicing matters, and a claim can be affected if a fault is caused by neglect or by water ingress from pressure-washing.
- Keep your receipt and any service records. Send us copies and we will keep them with your order too.
If something goes wrong, start a claim with us first rather than booking a repair yourself. We will tell you whether it is a warranty claim, a service item or something you can deal with at home - and if it is covered, we run the claim for you. See warranty and aftercare.
E-bike battery safety and disposal
This section is about the battery in an electric bike; the same care applies to any lithium battery we sell. Lithium batteries are safe when they are looked after and genuinely dangerous when they are not. These are the manufacturer and fire-service recommendations, and we put them in writing for every customer.
Charging safely
- Use the charger supplied with the bike, or one the manufacturer specifically recommends. Follow its instructions.
- Let a hot battery cool before charging it.
- Charge while you are awake and in the building, and unplug when charging is complete. Do not leave a battery charging overnight or when you go out.
- Do not cover the battery or charger while charging.
- Charge and store away from escape routes and from anything flammable, and out of extreme heat and cold.
Warning signs - stop using it
- Damage from a drop or a crash, or a battery that has been submerged.
- Swelling, bulging or a distorted case.
- Unusual heat, leaking, hissing, cracking or a strange smell.
- If it smokes or catches fire: get out, stay out, and call 999. Do not try to fight it yourself.
Disposal
Never put an e-bike battery in your household rubbish or ordinary recycling. Batteries cause fires in bin lorries and waste facilities. Manufacturers and importers must provide a free take-back service for waste e-cycle battery packs, and any shop selling batteries of the same type has to accept them too. We take packs back on warranty replacements and returns and route them correctly - contact us before posting one, because a damaged pack must not go into the postal system.
Do not leave a suspect battery in your home while you decide what to do with it. Contact us, or your local authority, for advice on where it can be taken safely.
Finance and Cycle to Work
We do not currently offer finance online, and no credit is advertised here. Introducing customers to a lender and helping arrange credit is a regulated activity, and claiming otherwise would be both wrong and unfair to customers. If we offer finance in future it will be through a properly authorised arrangement with a named lender, with the terms, the representative APR and the lender's details shown before anyone applies.
Cycle to Work schemes are different. These are arranged by your employer and are not consumer credit from us. We will happily provide an itemised invoice or quotation for your scheme administrator. Tell us before you order so we do not take payment for a bike your employer is buying.
If you are considering borrowing to buy anything from us, think about whether the repayments are comfortably affordable for you, and remember that credit is subject to status.
Privacy notice
This notice explains what this website records, what it deliberately does not record, and why. It covers visitors, people who send an enquiry or a warranty claim, and people who order from us.
Who is responsible
Dynamite Athletics, a sole trader business established in the United Kingdom, is the data controller for this website. You can reach us at hello@dynamiteathletics.co.uk.
Page counts
We count page views ourselves, on our own server. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracking script.
- What is recorded: the date and time, the page address (on a product page, which bike), the host name of the site that referred you, and a keyed one-way code derived from your IP address, browser string and the date.
- What is not recorded: your IP address and browser string are used once to calculate that code and are never written to the database. The code cannot be reversed without the server's secret, and it changes every day, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next.
- No cookies and no device storage are used for counting. We honour the Do Not Track setting, ignore known bots, and do not count our own staff previews or the site editor.
- Kept for up to 180 days, then deleted automatically.
- Why: our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are used and which sites send visitors, so we can improve the shop. It is not used to profile anyone or to make automated decisions.
Basket and display settings
Your basket, your theme choice and a dismissed notice are saved in your browser's local storage so they survive a refresh. They stay on your device and are not sent to us. Clearing site data in your browser removes them.
Enquiries and warranty claims
When you send the contact form or a warranty claim we store your name, email address, optional phone number, the topic or product, your message, whether you ticked the consent box, and a keyed one-way hash of your connection address used to stop spam. A claim also includes the order number, delivery date and fault description you give us. This is kept in our back-office inbox, visible only to staff, and used to answer you and handle the claim. We keep it while the matter is open and for as long as we need it afterwards for a warranty, legal or accounting reason, then delete it. Legal basis: your consent, and our contract with you where the message relates to an order or warranty claim.
Orders and payment
If you order, we store your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the items and amounts, the order status and the payment provider's reference. Card details are typed on Stripe's own payment page and never reach our server. Where card payment is offered, the checkout says so before you pay. Order records are kept for six years for tax and accounting. Legal basis: performance of our contract and our legal obligations.
Order lookups and security
To show an order we match the reference and email address you give us. To stop someone guessing references, we store a keyed one-way hash of the connection address and the time of the attempt for seven days. Staff sign-in uses a session cookie that only staff receive; it is HttpOnly and expires automatically.
Cookies
We do not set advertising, analytics or social media cookies, and we do not embed third-party videos, maps or pixels. Our host, Cloudflare, may set a short-lived security cookie when it needs to check that a request is genuine. If a card payment page is used, Stripe sets its own cookies on Stripe's domain under Stripe's privacy notice.
Who else sees data
- Cloudflare - hosting, DNS and security.
- Stripe - card payments.
- Zoho Mail - our email mailbox.
- Professional advisers, or a public authority, where the law requires it.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Our providers operate internationally; where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards those providers publish, including the UK's adequacy regulations and standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask us to transfer it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@dynamiteathletics.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Automated decisions
We do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Terms of sale
Who you are dealing with. Dynamite Athletics is a sole trader business established in the United Kingdom. Our geographic trading address is in the footer of every page, and you can contact us at hello@dynamiteathletics.co.uk.
- Orders and payment. Where card payment is offered, the order is placed and paid for at checkout and the payment is handled by Stripe on their own page. If card payment is unavailable, the checkout prepares an order request instead: no contract is formed and no money is taken until we confirm availability, the dispatch window and the total, and you accept.
- Prices. Prices are in pounds sterling. Delivery is shown before you commit. If a price is obviously wrong we will tell you before accepting the order, and you can cancel.
- Delivery. UK delivery only, to the address you give us. Dispatch windows are shown on each listing and confirmed in writing. Risk passes when the goods are delivered to you.
- Cancellation and returns. If you buy online you have 14 days from delivery to cancel without giving a reason, and a further 14 days to return the goods. We refund the price and standard delivery within 14 days of receiving the goods or evidence that you sent them. See returns and cancellation.
- Faults. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are set out above and are not affected by any warranty.
- Age. We do not accept orders from anyone under 18. E-bike riders must be 14 or over.
- Liability. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights.
- Complaints and law. Email us first and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
The cancellation notice and model cancellation form required by the Consumer Contracts Regulations are provided with every order confirmation.
